Privacy

Your lesson scores are stored only in your own browser, under your control, and never sent to us. We offer optional Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics to understand how the site is actually used so we can improve the beta - but they stay off until you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time. We don't run advertising pixels and we don't sell personal information.

What's stored on your device

  • Your best score and attempt count for each lesson, in localStorage under your browser's storage for leftlane.online. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings; we have no copy.

Analytics

Analytics are optional and off by default. On your first visit you'll see a small banner asking whether to turn them on. Nothing analytics-related loads and no analytics data is sent until you choose Accept analytics - if you decline, or simply ignore the banner, neither tool below ever loads. Declining does not affect your access to LeftLane or the simulator in any way.

Your choice is remembered in your own browser (a small preference value in localStorage, not a tracking identifier), so we don't re-ask on every page. You can reopen the Analytics choices control - the small button in the corner of any page, including the simulator - to change your mind at any time. Turning analytics back off stops further collection and clears these tools' cookies from your browser on a best-effort basis; your lesson scores and any saved access key are left untouched.

When you accept, LeftLane uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors actually use the site - which buttons get clicked, where people scroll, what they try and what they skip - to find usability problems and improve the beta. Clarity may then collect usage data such as page views, clicks, scrolls, device and browser information, and anonymized interaction recordings. It does not collect names, addresses, or contact details, and we do not use it to sell personal information. Microsoft's own notice for Clarity, including the cookies it uses, is at learn.microsoft.com/clarity.

When you accept, we also use Google Analytics (GA4) to see how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where they come from. Advertising features stay off - advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google Signals are all disabled - so it's used for site-usage measurement only, never advertising. Google Analytics may then set cookies and collect usage data such as page views, approximate location, and device and browser information. It does not receive your name or contact details. Google's own data-practices notice is at policies.google.com.

Video

Two pages on this site can show a short video hosted on YouTube: the About page and the page about right turns. The video does not load until you click play. Until you click, nothing is requested from YouTube and no YouTube cookie is set. If you do click play, YouTube receives the request and may set cookies under its own privacy policy.

Email you share with us

If you write to us directly or use the feedback link, your email goes only to the founder's personal inbox. It is not added to any marketing list and is used only to reply to you.

If you download the First Drive Pack or sign up for product updates, the email (and, for the pack, an optional first name) you enter is submitted through Netlify Forms - our hosting provider - and stored in our account there. We use it to deliver the guide if you requested it, and to send the occasional LeftLane update - such as new scenarios or the launch of the full version - to people who asked for one. (With the First Drive Pack, updates are sent only if you tick the optional consent box; the updates form's only purpose is to send them.) We never sell your email, and every update email includes a one-click unsubscribe. Netlify's privacy notice is at netlify.com/privacy.

If you use the contact form, the email address, the reason you pick, and the message you write are submitted through Netlify Forms in the same way and stored in our account there so we can read and answer them. We use them only to reply to you, and they are not added to any marketing list.

If you apply to the Partner Program, the name or business name, email address, website or profile link, and any optional notes about your audience are also submitted through Netlify Forms and stored in our account there. We use them only to review your application, and they are not added to any marketing list.

Your rights

Your lesson scores live only in your browser - clearing your browser's site data for leftlane.online removes everything stored on your device. What we may hold off-device is whatever you sent through one of our forms: an email you submitted to download the First Drive Pack or to get product updates, the email and message you sent through the contact form, or the details in a partner application; email hello@leftlane.online and we'll delete it from our forms account on request.
